What patterns support reverse database development?

I have installed Professional Visio 2016, which, with all my research, should support the reverse development of the database.

Each manual that I find says to go into the "Software and Database" category and select "Database Model Diagram" for the "Database" tab to open the option for reverse engineering.

I do not see this template in my list, and the one I tried does not make the database bookmark visible. Am I missing something from my list, or which will allow this feature? If I have one that supports functionality, how would I enable it?

The reverse engineering database code was removed in Visio Professional 2016 due to some problems, but at the end of last year it was announced that it would return this year. In the meantime, you may find my next blog useful: Creating a schema from Visio external post entries

The Visio Database Modeling Add-in is available as a separate download for Visio Pro for Office 365 only .

If you can, install an earlier version of Visio (2007).
