Content Beyond the Navigation Bar

I have a problem with Android 5.0 and above. Whenever I align any view with the parent bottom, the content is hidden behind a soft navigation button.

Here is an example screen

The above screenshot is taken after creating a new project with Android Studio 1.5. I just added the edit text at the bottom of the snippet.

As you can see, half of the editing text is located behind the navigation bar.

Although the codes are automatically generated by Android Studio, I still post the codes below.

PS If removing or replacing drawable is part of your solution, I already tried it. And I could not find the right solution in the Android manuals either.

I don't have a solution without shelves, but that might help. The root element of activity_main.xml states that it must match the system window: android:fitsSystemWindows="true" .

I assume that you need to find a way to determine if the bottom navigation bar is on the screen, and if true, add an extra margin to your activity layout.

Here is the solution.

Most layouts are solved by adding these properties to the -21 style.xml value.

for others, I calculated the height of the navigation bar and added margin to my view.
