IE 11 displays the "You are not connected to the network" page when you try to access the offline App Cached page

Background:

I created a web page that should work even offline. This page is created using the AppCache guidelines .

My web browser is IE11 on an HP tablet for Windows 8.

When I click the direct URL of a page on a physical server (Oracle weblogic), I can access this page. The same page is accessible through the IE11 browser even when disconnecting network connections.

Question:

When I access the same page through a corporate gateway (F5 and OHS), the page is available when there is a network connection. But as soon as I disconnect the network connection, I see the page " You are not connected to the network ."

When I connect to the network and try to access the same page, I see that the resources requested by my page are served from the local cache browser (I check the network using the IE developer tools).

Not sure what is going on. I would like to access my page even if there is no connectivity.

Note:

My pages are accessible through the gateway using only "HTTPS". Where, when my direct server access uses "HTTP"

It seems that IE maintains its offline content in different security zones. And these zones differ depending on your network connection or offline.

It seems that when I was connected to the network, the local intranet security zone was applied. But when I go offline, the Internet security zone was applied by IE browser.

My web page started working fine when I added the domain name of the site in IE → Internet Options → Security → Trusted Sites.

Since then, the same security zone has been applied when connected to a network or offline.
