Are testflight application sizes overblown compared to actual download sizes after posting?

I created an iOS game with Unity. I uploaded it to the App Store (with bit code enabled). IPA is about 200 mb.

In iTunes Connect, it shows that my build size is about 30 MB for each device (which I’m very glad to see).

But when I added the assembly to TestFlight, I noticed that when loading through TestFlight it shows a size of 170 MB. Quite the opposite to this question ( TestFlight showing the size of my application is 4 times smaller than the actual size ), the size of my application on TestFlight is many times the actual estimated sizes shown in iTunes Connect.

In addition, iTunes Connect reports:

TestFlight variants differ from store variants and have smaller sizes.

which is exactly the opposite of what happened. My TestFlight download is huge.

This is normal?

Testflight's application size increase is general and completely normal

  • It includes a bit code and a code for analyzing failures. When the application appears in the application store, it will revert to its normal size.

  • You may also notice that for different screen sizes, the size varies greatly.

How to check the actual file size of the App Store:

If you are concerned about the size of your App Store file, you can check using the following steps.

  • Go to iTunes Connect → Your App → Activity

  • Navigate to the version you want to check and click on the assembly you want to watch. There you have the option App Store File Sizes
