While working on a new version of one of my applications, Xcode told me today that it can no longer run the project because the development profile has expired.
The organizer shows for development profiles all "Valid signature ID not found" and for distribution profiles all "Profile has expired."
Of course, this is not a surprise that is about to expire. In the past, all I had to do was click Refresh, but that no longer works. After entering the username and password for my Xcode account, the error message "No value for" certificateIds "...
What can I do?
Instead of using the Organizer, he directly visited the webpage of the Provisioning Center. In the section "iOS Applications / Certificates / All" there are two entries: 1. "My name iOS development expires: March 17, 2012." 2. "My name expires: March 19, 2013."
Click on one of the certificates to display the "Review" or "Download" option. There is also a β+β button to create a new certificate, but the option is βiOS App Development Development version of your application for iOS.β deactivated.
In the "Provisioning profiles" section, all development profiles are marked as "Active", and the entire distribution profile is "Expired". Only the "Change" and "Delete" options are available, while the "Update" option is missing. The Edit option shows the details of the profile and the Create button. I would suggest that "Generate" creates a new version, but after clicking the button, only a progress indicator is displayed, which does not lead to a result. After reloading the page, the status does not change.
So, there are no options for updating existing certificates and profiles (is there?). Thus, I have to create new certificates, but as described, this option is inactive. Suppose you first need to delete / revoke existing certificates. Clicking βCancelβ shows a very clear warning: β Canceling this certificate will invalidate it and may be affected by any associated services or provisioning profiles that use this certificate. "
I am afraid that certificate revocation may affect my existing application in the App Store - that the application may be removed from sale because the certificate on which they are based has been deleted.
Of course, this is a scenario that I would like to avoid. Does anyone know for sure what happens when using the "Cancel" option for an existing certificate. Does it even affect App Store apps?
Thank you very much!
