Iphone app: how to renew an expired certificate through the iOS provisioning portal

My distribution certificate is tied to an application that I distributed ad hoc to the number of field employees, and it says it expires tomorrow. When I go to the iOS initialization portal, I go to the certificate link and then on the Distribution tab. After the certificate expires, the date is indicated as tomorrow. My question is: how to renew the certificate? I was told that the refresh button may appear, which appears when it expires. I was also told that this refresh button will appear today when it does not. Will there be an update button? Will the refresh button appear in the provisioning profile attached to the certificate or in the certificates → on the portal? None of this is documented anywhere regarding what I need to do to ensure downtime with my application.

Thanks for the help!

After the expiration, you will receive an extension button, yes. If you want to do this before the expiration date, cancel the current certificate and you will receive a button to request a new one.

Whatever you do, your ad hoc application will stop working tomorrow, and you must distribute the new assembly with a new provisioning profile signed with a new certificate.

From the Apple Developer Support Certificates section :

IOS Distribution Certificate (internal, internal applications)

Users will no longer be able to run applications that have been signed with this certificate. You must distribute a new version of your application, signed with a new certificate.
