Universal Link Test: Failed to extract required information for application links

Trying to configure Universal Links for iOS 9. I am using the Apple Validation Tool:

https://search.developer.apple.com/appsearch-validation-tool/

Everything passes, except that I get Action Required for Link to Application . Message: β€œ Could not extract required information for application links. Learn how to implement the recommended Universal Links. ” I tried to run the tool both from my desktop and from a device that I believe is configured correctly. Universal Links do not work for me when I try to use them in Safari.

The documentation does not contain anything that clearly explains what this information is.

What is fixed for me, understands that you must enter the actual URL in the verification tool, and not just the domain (root)> IF <apple-app-site-association file indicates a sub-item.

In other words, if only part of your site redirects the application, be sure to enter the URL that includes the subdomain into the verification tool!

[Spent all day figuring this out - LOL]

In my case, the problem was with the "#" symbol in the link.

While the apple-app-site-association file has a wild card for any links "/? / Foo / *", "/ a / foo / bar" will go through until "/ # / foo / bar"
