Unable to enter view with Butterknife 8.1.0

I want to use Butterknife in my project. As described here I configured Butterknife like this.

In the project level module:

But when I run my application, I get the following error message.

 Error:(20, 32) error: method castView in enum Finder cannot be applied to given types; required: View,int,String,Class<T> found: View,int,String reason: cannot instantiate from arguments because actual and formal argument lists differ in length where T is a type-variable: T extends Object declared in method <T>castView(View,int,String,Class<T>) Error:(22, 31) error: method castView in enum Finder cannot be applied to given types; required: View,int,String,Class<T> found: View,int,String reason: cannot instantiate from arguments because actual and formal argument lists differ in length where T is a type-variable: T extends Object declared in method <T>castView(View,int,String,Class<T>)

Can someone tell me what I am missing here?

Good. It was a small mistake.

I used different versions in gradle files.

  compile 'com.jakewharton:butterknife:8.2.1' apt 'com.jakewharton:butterknife-compiler:8.0.1'

Now that I have changed its performance. Thus, there will be some version conflict.

 compile 'com.jakewharton:butterknife:8.2.1' apt 'com.jakewharton:butterknife-compiler:8.2.1'

Add another suggestion on this issue to your gradle file. apply plugin: 'android-apt'

This will save me when I run into a similar problem. Error: (29, 0) Could not find the apt () method for the arguments [com.jakewharton: butterknife-compiler: 8.4.0] on an object of type org.gradle.api.internal.artifacts.dsl.dependencies.DefaultDependencyHandler.
