Fold / unold only in Notepad ++

Question

Notepad ++ has commands to fold / expand an entire document. Is it possible to select some of the lines and collapse / expand only the blocks lying inside the selection?

Sorry, but Notepad ++ does not have this option.

It has a similar option to "Hide lines"

• Select the text you want to hide.
• Right click
• Choose Hide Lines .

Instead of the + symbol, you will see two blue arrows indicating that some lines are hidden.

The Notepad ++ locking mechanism detects portions of documents enclosed in braces {} . Regardless of which lines are enclosed in braces, they can be added and expanded using the “+” and “-” handles on the left, next to line numbers. You can also have nested folds!

While holding down the Ctrl key, the bend point (+ / -), you can recursively expand / stack all the blocks inside it.
