IPad not showing up on OSX Safari's Design menu

I need to debug HTML app on ipad. I used to be able to connect the ipad via a USB cable to my Mac, and it will appear in the Development menu in Safari. Now I have two ipads - one with iOS 6 and the other with iOS 7. The kernel of iOS 6 is displayed correctly and I can access the web inspector from my mac. iOS 7 ipad does not appear in the Design menu.

I have the latest version of iOS (version 7.1) and the latest version of Safari (7.0.2) installed on Maverick.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Turn on Web Inspector on your iOS device by following these steps:

iOS Device > Settings app > Safari > Advanced > Web Inspector

This option allows you to connect to a desktop safari.

I know this is a little late. I had the same problem, and I thought that I would publish how I earned in my case, just in case, if this helps someone in the future. I turned it on on the iPad and it didn't show. I tried closing Safari on the iPad by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, and none of them worked. It turned out to be very simple for me, I just left Safari on my laptop and restarted it, and Safari recognized the iPad and allowed me to debug. It may not work for every case, but it was for me, hope this helps.

edit: just a note, I had an iPad connected using a web inspector when I restarted Safari.

You also need to enable the web inspector from the device.

Open the settings app, select a safari, select an option and then turn on the web inspector.

In my case, I ran iOS 11 BETA on the iPhone and tried to access Safari 10 (current stable version). I installed Safari 11 BETA and now it works as expected.

Using genuine Apple lightning fast cable (instead of fake) solved my problem.

If you have already enabled Web Inspector on your iOS device by following the steps below and it still doesn’t appear, you can try simply disabling and then enabling Web Inspector again in the Safari browser of the device.

iOS Device > Settings app > Safari > Advanced > Web Inspector

I just needed to turn the web inspector on and off on the device that I was trying to connect, and it appeared in the Safari development menu:

iOS Device > Settings app > Safari > Advanced > Web Inspector

Another attempt for the recycle bin: if you have another OS running on a virtual machine that you forgot about, the iPad may be associated with this and therefore invisible to Safari on Mac.
