What is the little red arrow in VS code?

See here, between lines 15 and 16. Does this indicate an empty line? If so, why?

It is called the "Gutter Indicator".

This means that the line was removed from a previous version of the file (based on git).

This is a message from style police.

If you put two empty lines inside the javascript function declaration, vscode forces you to take out the unnecessary second empty line with the red arrow.

Guess that it keeps your source more compact, so maybe this is not bad. You can always ignore it.

EDIT: sometimes it does this, but it seems a bit random - I think it should be some kind of “incomplete function”.
