What does SGBD mean?

As I could not find the answer anywhere:

What is SGBD? Is this the "Système de Gestion de Bases de Données" (database management system)?

eg. it is used in answers to these two stack overflow questions:

  • Calculation of travel time in relational databases

  • How can I use Python for large-scale development?

Yes, you're right, I confirm that in French we use the SGBD abbreviation for the Système Gestion de Base de Données system (database management system / DBMS), to which we can sometimes add R (SGBDR) 'Système Gestion de Base de Données Relationnelle '(RDBMS).

SGBD also applies to the Spanish language: Sistema de Gestion de Bases de Datos.

SGBD = Database System

The English abbreviation is RDBMS (Relational Database Management System)

SGBD is Donny's Base System, which is exactly the same as DBMS. I can not say more, since there is no great subtlety of the translation.

SGBD can also mean "System de de de de de Banco de Dados" in Portuguese. Literally, "Database Management System", our good old DBMS.
