We have precedents in which we would like to store a large amount of data in Google Bigtable for a long time:
- during product development
- for performance tuning
- for demonstrations
We need to save the data, but we do not need it to be "online" all the time. The current cost bottleneck is apparently the cost of nodes, which in these cases have been idle for a long time.
How is Google Bigtable used during product development? I know about the development mode (and emulator), and they are suitable for some use cases, but we still need a working environment for other use cases.
In fact, what would be ideal is the ability to disable the "big" (while paying for the data, but not for the nodes) and, if necessary, raise the nodes. I do not think this feature exists. In his absence, are there other possible workarounds / alternatives?
