What are exotic objects?

I just found out about Exotic Objects in ES6. I struggled to understand them and could not find a lot of simple information, so I have many questions:

• Can I create new types of exotic objects or can only exist those defined by the standard?
• What are the types of exotic objects defined by the standard?
• Do we really need all kinds of exotic objects, or are they there for compatibility with old standards? For example, it was not possible to implement the arguments of exotic objects with a regular array pre-populated with default arguments?
• At first I suggested that it Object.create(proto)does not work as expected, only on prototypes of exotic objects (for example, it Object.create(Array.prototype)doesn’t work that way), but I realized that it also does not work as expected with a prototype Setand Mapwhich, it seems, are not exotic objects ... are these some other special objects different from exotic?
• Is there a way to determine if an object is exotic?

I am very confused about exotic objects; A general review of them would be greatly appreciated.
