Visual Studio Code: Scrolling Speed ​​Too Fast for Mouse Selection

I am using the MS Visual Studio Visual Studio Editor version 1.12.2 (1.12.2) on the MacBook pro for OSX Sierra.

When I want to select a large range with the mouse, and I move the cursor with the button down beyond the bottom edge of the editing window, the editor starts scrolling to expand the selected range. This is what every editor should do, but Code does it so quickly that I just can’t get it to find the right position to finish my choice (BTW MS Word has the same problem). Is there a way to slow down the scroll speed here?
