Windows 10 Connect to a classic Bluetooth device without pairing

According to the latest Microsoft docs:

Do I need to pair Bluetooth devices before using them? You do not have for Bluetooth RFCOMM (classic) devices. Starting with Windows 10 release 1607, you can simply request neighboring devices and connect to them. An updated RFCOMM chat sample shows this functionality.

However, when I try to connect to my devices using this sample chat, I get a notification that asks me to “configure the device”, for example, I went through the normal pairing process.

Did I miss something?

A snippet of code that I changed from the sample:

var rfcommServices = await bluetoothDevice.GetRfcommServicesAsync(BluetoothCacheMode.Uncached);
