What is the proper level of virtual directory access required for a SOAP web service?

When configuring a new virtual directory to host the SOAP web service in IIS 6.0 on Server 2003, I need to set access permissions for the virtual directory. Various permissions allow / deny the following:

  • Read
  • Run scripts (e.g. ASP)
  • Run (e.g. ISAPI or CGI)
  • To write
  • Overview

The SOAP web service is published through the SOAP3.0 ISAPI server with the extensions set to "Allowed" in the "Web Services Extensions" panel of IIS Manager.

Since I do not want to disclose the contents of this directory on the Internet, I know that the Review is not desirable. But I do not know if I need to use the Run scripts , Execute and record , to publish this Web service correctly. The web service is used to send and receive XML datasets between the server and remote clients. What is the correct access level for my SOAP web service virtual directory?
