WYSIWYG Markdown Control for Windows Forms?

[We have an external Windows Forms database application that, among other things, can be used as a CMS; customers create the structure, populate it, and then use the ASP.NET WebForms site to publish the results on the Internet. For added flexibility, they are sometimes forced to enter actual HTML markup directly into the text box, which then ends up as a varchar in the database. It works, but it's far from convenient.]

As such ... some customers need a WYSIWYG HTML editor. I would like to convince them that they would benefit from using a simpler language (namely, Markdown). Ideally, I would like it to be a WYSIWYG editor. They don’t need tables or something so complicated.

A quick search reveals .NET Markdown to HTML converter , and then we are a Windows Forms-based text editor that outputs HTML , but apparently nothing that brings them together. As a result, we would have left our varchars with markup, but at least it would be understandable to humans and still easy to analyze.

Will it be a WYSIWYG editor that outputs Markdown, which is then parsed into ASP.NET HTML, is doable? Any alternative suggestions?
