Brownfield vs. Greenfield?

This is not a question with an exact answer (strictly speaking, the answer will be best received by the survey, but this functionality is not available), but I am sincerely interested in the answer, so I will ask him anyway.

Over the course of your career, how much time have you spent on greenfield compared to brownfield ?

Over the past 10 years, I would estimate that I spent 20% on a new field and 80% on a brown field. Is this typical?

I believe that this is typical for professionals who deal with clients to spend more time developing the field. The reason is that customers usually do not want to throw away their existing software in order to adopt the β€œlatest and best” (green) software.

However, research developers or scientists are more likely to develop new fields. Launch also.
