Built-in localization tools in VS2008

Question

I am working on a WinForms application programmed in C # .NET 2.0 and VS2008. I am going to start translating the application into several languages. Before you begin, is it useful to use VS2008 for all localization? Or is it better to use some kind of external tool right away? This is my first .NET application, so I would rather ask before I get started. What are others using?

All the lines used in my application are in resources, so I think the application is ready for translation.
