Should links on a web page always be underlined?I do not believe that this should be a tough and quick rule!I recently wrote a comment on my blog about this after another developer complained that I did not follow web standards. He comes up again, and I want to know what you think. Her argument was that for consistency and ease of use ALL links should be underlined ALL the time. My manager agreed, so I changed two lines in CSS, and that was done. I did not mind doing the job, but I think the usability of the site is now less. There are too many things that require your attention.I should note that this is a website with many data entry pages. These links were navigation links to the left of the page in the box titled "Menu." The underline appeared when you hover over the link, and the background color changes when the user hover over the link. I really could not believe that I even had a discussion. I was even more shocked when my manager agreed.Am I mistaken? What other arguments should I give? Thanks! :)
