I use Visual Assist X for C / C ++ code in Visual Studio 2005, but I see that once, when the visual studio focuses, the processor runs too much and I cannot type the code. If I wait a few seconds, it returns focus.
You really should try asking for the Visual Assist forum if you haven't already. They have great support there.
They may have solutions / workarounds for the problem, and if not, they probably want to know about the problem so that they can fix it.
