What is a VisualStudio add-in with Mercurial?

I am looking for a Visual Studio (2010) add-in for Mercurial. Currently, I have identified 3 potential candidates:

Do you use any of these tools or others? What is your experience with them?

I am looking for a tool that integrates well with VS2010, Open Source, is actively developing, relatively easy to use and reliable.

Thank.

Ok, let's compare the development details:

  • The VisualHg page says it is stable. The last release of the version was in March of this year, and the latest changes in the source - from 1 week ago.
  • HgSccPackage (better found here than your other link) was last updated in VS Gallery 2 days ago. (It can also be found on the beatbucket .)
  • The Mercurial Toolbar page talks about this in alpha and was last updated in March 2010. Of the three, it seems that this is not actively developing.

It seems [s skimming some text] that HgSccPackage has its own windows for graph logs and whatnot.

VisualHg, on the other hand, rather complements TortoiseHg. Many menu commands for VisualHg will open TortoiseHg windows. If you are using the TortoiseHg user interface, this sequence may be preferred. In the screenshot I saw for HgSccPackage, you can find VisualHg status icons more standard.

Since you have only 2 options, there is really not much to try both and see what you prefer.

I have VisualHg installed, but I try to use TortoiseHg Workbench more than VisualHg. VisualHg remains in use mainly for its automatic add , remove , rename , etc.

I just finished researching the same issue. VisualHG seems to have released its latest version a year and a half ago in October 2011. In total, in 2012 there were only 3 commits. The latest version of HgSccPackage was released in March 2012, about a year ago, but it has had a bunch of commits since then.

Both tools seem to be equally strong, but HgSccPackage is getting more investment. I decided to go with HgSccPackage.
