Take advantage of WebServiceHostFactory

When hosting a WCF service in IIS, you have the option to manually configure the endpoint or declaratively using WebServiceHostFactory. It doesn't seem so difficult to create an endpoint manually, so I decided I would ask.

  • What are the benefits of using WebServiceHostFactory?
  • Are there any implications for dynamically creating endpoints?

Can you clarify: you specifically ask about Web ServiceHostFactory (emph: "Web")? Or is it just the difference between IIS hosting it and starting its own server with code?
