Is there an open source object database available? I would like to look at the source code and see how the materials are implemented.

, Magma, Smalltalk OODB, Gemstone.

Magma - OODB Squeak Smalltalk. . http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/2665. , . , .

Gemstone is perhaps the largest OODB company, with the best track record. They used to be very expensive, but recently they introduced the free open source version for small (4 GB) databases in their GLASS applications (Gemstone, Linux, Apache and Seaside).
