Is SSL really worth it?

I am wondering if I add an SSL layer between my server and client. I do not process sensitive data, but there is a very small chance that someone might want to hack into gears to get intelligence (this, by the way, is a game). Now the amount of data being processed is significant compared to a small website, and although the added security can be pleasant, the most likely hackers will be the users themselves, so I think that SSL will be a waste of time, but I would like to hear about others being worried.

thanks
