Does Rails have a built-in authentication system?

I have implemented authentication systems for webapps several times, but before I do it again, I thought I'd ask if there was a canned solution that I should be aware of.

The last time I checked, there was no Rails built-in authentication system, and the restful-authentication plugin was the standard solution . Is this still true? Or maybe it is now already built in Rails? I have seen this happening.

Reauthentication is still the standard. If you haven’t looked at the plugin for a while, the source has moved to Github

Now I suggest AuthLogic instead of restful-auth, it is much less intrusive, but less supported (restful-auth is including bort ).
