How can I use ⨝ and ⊐ in my LaTeX document?

I am trying to insert some characters from LaTeX Math Symbols into my LaTeX document: under the heading of relational symbols I want to join (⨝) and supset (⊐) square.

They both have a b after them. What does it mean; how to insert them into a document? I tried adding them, ignoring b, but this seemed like an error and didn't work.

I am using a small Mac LaTeX installation.

They use meta-LaTeX for you: it is the superscript character "b" ($ stands for short mathematical expression, and carriage is superscript).

What they indicate is a footnote. It is shown in the "Binary Operation Symbols" section.

$^ b $ {\ tt basefont.tex}.            {\ tt oldlfont}, {\ tt newlfont}, {\ tt amsfonts} {\ tt amssymb}.

, , , basefont. , , , . ,

\ usepackage {newlfont}

. , \Join.

" LaTeX" \sqsupset ( ):

": [...] LaTeX 2e, latexsym amsfonts ."

\Join , \bowtie, , , , : -)

As the footnote on this page explains, you must use special settings to get these characters. For example, if you add \usepackage{newlfont}to the beginning of the file, you can get characters, for example. $\sqsubset$.
