Are there any technical advantages for Windows / Microsoft as a platform to use when developing on a Unix dialog, such as Linux or Solaris?
I know that companies sometimes choose Microsoft, because there are simply not enough programmers who know Unix, or that these programmers are much more expensive to hire.
So, assuming all the developers knew Unix and Microsoft equally well, would there be more cases where you would be better off developing on Windows?
