Is there an Open Source alternative for StreamBase?

Question

I worked with StreamBase in a previous life and found it very useful for handling streams. However, I cannot allow StreamBase for the project that I am currently doing, but if there is an open source alternative, I would like it to start spinning. My other solution was to hack the StreamBase application as an application using SQLite, but it will take some time, and now I do not have such time.
