SQL Server Bad & Best Practices

Yesterday I found out that setting up a database with automatic growth is not a good thing.

Are there other basic “bad” methods (or best practices) for creating SQL Server databases?

You have data and logs on individual devices. Is tempdb a reasonable size? Do you have a disaster recovery plan? The first time you need to restore a database, it’s not the time to start reading about how to do it!
