I have been programming the iPhone SDK for some time.
I did not use Interface Builder. It scares me a little. I know that in fact I can "fight with the frame", but I do not see this.
It is very easy for me to simply instantiate my UITabBarController in my application, create an instance of the UINavigationController, and then click and configure the view controllers when I go.
Naturally, I do not have extensive knowledge on how to archive an application with XIB files, because I never did, but I know its general meaning by creating some Mac applications in Cocoa using NIB. Therefore, I am not completely unaware.
My question is whether development time increases when you select UITableViewControllers and UIViewControllers using the XIB, rather than creating them programmatically and then installing ivars.
As I can see, both methods still require that you subclass the view controller for customization, which is likely to be the case for most of your views. In addition, delegates still require manual classes, and the process of connecting points from XIB seems to me comparable to the ivar setting.
Or did I miss another important point?
Thanks!
