I am very new to stress testing and just trying to learn the ropes. So my questions are:
If I have a development server that is identical in terms of software, but in terms of hardware has a much lower specification on a production server, is stress testing of the development server worthwhile to identify obvious software defects?
What is the best way to test a live production server without endangering your user experience? Or stress testing a production server should be avoided.
