Can I use Flash or Silverlight for kiosk applications? How?

My experience is only with Flash, and I'm afraid that I have not updated. The last time I tried this, I vaguely remembered that I had a problem with Flash, where he slowly ate memory, until in the end the OS locked itself. That was a couple of years ago, and maybe it wasn’t because of Flash.

Are there any problems using Flash or Silverlight for kiosk-like applications?

How will they be configured? Will using FireFox in kiosk mode with a Flash / Silverlight application on a web page be good enough?

edit:

To answer the question about the type of application. This app will have limited interactivity. It will have a menu, and users can click on the menu to view other content consisting of text, images and videos. It will probably be a transitional animation. I'm not sure yet that a kiosk should be a teak kiosk.

Both Flash and Silverlight will work.

Flash can be embedded in an executable file or compiled as exe. Both will work for the type of application you mentioned. Silverlight 3 will allow you to exit the browser. If the kiosk will use a browser, it really does not matter.
