Embedded System Database

Question

I am looking for a very efficient and cheap (hopefully free) database engine that will be used on the built-in x86 platform in Windows CE . Can anyone give any suggestions? The important things I'm looking for are the following:

• High performance (for real-time system)
• Low cost
• Used with Compact.NET Platform

Based on your needs, SQL Server Compact Edition is the easiest

• Performance is very good.
• Free
• Provides good .NET compatibility.
