MathML, Latex or similar for the WYSIWYG web editor

I am looking for a WYSIWYG (or WYSIWYM) web editor, such as the TinyMCE or WMD editor (used to write this question), which supports users to write mathematical formulas. I looked at LaTeX a bit, but it has a learning curve, and I'm not sure if the support for MathML is extensive. Ideally, I would also like to avoid having to rewrite the editor and rather just pick one from the shelf.

I would like to know if any of you had a similar situation and what decision you made / built.

I was looking for something similar and came across this question. Then I was happy to find Mathquill through the Wikipedia page for formula editors .

I used a bunch of different formula editors, from the MS Equation editor to Google Docs to LyX, and this is probably the most convenient for all of them to simply beat out formulas. And this is the web interface and GPL. This thing is much better than the Google Docs formula editor, at least.
