Launch SMS from a mobile browser

Can I run the SMS / Texting application from a website link in a mobile browser? I doubt that this is possible all over the world, but perhaps it is possible for certain subsets (Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Google Android, etc. Etc.), which we can detect and display.

You can use WTAI primite the wap: <a href="sms:1234567?body=hello world">Send SMS</a>. It works on most browsers.
