I have a seemingly unique problem on only one computer in the company (there should have been my boss). I have a program from Borland C ++ that uses TSQLConnection. It connects to the local Firebird 2.1.1.17910 server running as an application. Other computers work fine.
It will absolutely not connect to this lappy (local server) for anything. I remember he always had problems with InterBase when he was installed. I think he set it to 7.5. Now everything went away, and I went through all the old GDS32.dll files and updated them with FireBird, and the connection uses fbclient.dll anyway ...
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FB and starting it as a service. Does not work.
I went to etc / services and added to this line:
gds_db 3050/tcp
No dice.
Holding "localhost:" in front of the database location gets this error
Failed to complete network request to host "localhost". Failed to establish connection.
I checked netstat, it listens on 127.0.0.1 port 3050 ...
Tried to stick with "127.0.0.1:" in front of the database location, I get:
connection rejected by the remote interface
Tried to fully filter 127.0.0.1 or localhost and just use the database location, which is the right place, I get
Inaccessible database.
- . "localhost", "127.0.0.1" .
