Dojo, prototype and jquery

I have been programming in PHP for a while, and id wanted to start learning how to create more dynamic websites using AJAX.

Question: where to start? Heres "what I am considering:

  • prototype + script.aculo.us
  • dojo (with / without Zend Framework)
  • JQuery

Which book should I buy? Are these different libraries or the same thing? Also, which IDE should I use? (I'm on OSX). Aptana? Komodo? I am currently using Zend Studio, is there still a WYSIWYGish editor?

Thanks!

, Prototype MooTools, , . (: Ajax, , Prototype.) , . , . ( , -, .) , Prototype, , , Array ( Object!). Prototype , poof , , ( - ).

I love object-oriented syntax just like any syntax, but modifying core objects is simply unsafe. $ is evil. :-)

So, for my money, YUI is the only really safe library. jQuery will be my second choice.
