I have been programming php for some time now and have a good command of it, MySQL, well, let's just say that I can make it work.
I would like to make a statistics script to track statistics of other sites similar to the obvious statcounter, google analytics, mint etc.
Of course, I would like to encode this correctly, and I do not see MySQL like 20,000,000 - 80,000,000 inserts (925 inserts per second "about **") daily.
I do some research, and it looks like I have to store every visit, “record”, in a CSV or some other flat file form, and then import the data I need.
Am I on the right track here? I just need a push in the right direction, direction is a way to inhale 1000 psuedo "MySQL" inserts per second and the right way to do it.
Example Insert: IP, time (), http_referer, etc.
I need to collect this data for the day, and then at the end of the day or at certain intervals, update one row in the database, for example, how many more unique hits we received. I know how to do this, of course, I'm just trying to give a visualization, since I'm terrible at explaining things.
If anyone can help me, I’m a great coder, I would be more than ready to return this service.
