Component package - where you can separate the runtime, development time, registration, etc.

When creating components for installation, I know that the registration units are usually “must be separate,” but what are the guidelines for when you need to separate the installation of a component into two separate packages (usually one of them is the runtime and the other is development time).

Bonus question: what are the accepted package naming conventions when individual runtime and design packages are separate?

Thus, as a rule, the package name should consist of a short letter combination for the company / product, one or two digits for the version number, one of the accepted Delphi / BCB keys (for example, D5, D2007 or BCB6). For development-time packages, there is usually a name "ds" or the like in the name, which is otherwise identical to that of the run-time package.
