Appengine - How to change an object of type "Model" to "Polymodel" without losing existing objects

I use appengine and appenginepatch for django

I have a class defined in my models that inherits from db.Model. Now I changed it to polyodel.PolyModel. After making changes, my existing objects can no longer be restored. Is there any way to access or convert them?

What is the recommended procedure for changing the type of an entity class?

Decided to use gaebar, backup and restore google engine. Although this is not necessarily the best solution for large data warehouses.
