Is Roslyn a cross platform?

I watched Roslyn for a long time, and I'm curious and worried. One thing that I noticed is that they mentioned that the compiler is rewritten in managed code. This raises the question of whether Roslyn can run on virtual machines without .NET, such as Mono .

I would really like to embed C # scripts using Roslyn in my video games and use many of my other features in my applications, but I wonder if Roslyn is using the ability to run it in Mono.

Has anyone tried to run Roslyn on Mono? Is it possible? Why or why not?

To clarify, I'm interested in whether a managed assembly can run on Mono and whether it can generate assemblies that can run mono.

Although it was farthest from Eric, Roslyn was released as a true Open Source (Apache 2.0) and is actually now cross-platform.

Miguel de Icas of Xamarin testifies that he works for Mono at BUILD.

When Roslyn releases, it will become part of Mono. They already support the branch in the Mono Git repository .

As mentioned in the @Govert comment in the comment, if you want to implement the C # scripting capabilities, you should just use the Mono-equivalent library / tool: Mono-Csharp. (Moreover, even if Roslyn can run on Mono, its license may indicate that you are not allowed.)

This tool in the Mono world exists much earlier than Roslyn BTW, and is open source. Here you even blog about Microsoft employees and upload it to Nuget:

Hope your game kicks your ass!
