Casus:
How to edit and promote using the same code from several remote locations and computers as easy as possible?
I have had this thought for some time. I often have problems when I have to work on one project from different computers, since I did not take any measures or did not facilitate myself in this situation. This is partly due to the fact that I rarely deal with freelance projects, and they are usually small websites.
Imagine that you need to work on a project at home where you have the database, web server, phpmyadmin and everything you need to set up your application. Then you go to your girlfriendโs house for the weekend, but you need to move forward with the project, and during this time you want to do some encoding.
What I'm doing now is that I archive my entire project along with a DB dump and place it on the ftp host so that I can access it later when I need it. I probably should not explain how tedious it is, especially if you need to set up the whole environment on the PC you are currently on.
Questions:
Turn my home computer into the dev server with Remote Desktop enabled - the problem is that the remote connection is not always quick and careless as needed to make RAD. In addition, this means that the PC should always be turned on at home, regardless of the fact that I might not even need it. If, say, there are better things to do on the weekend. I may need to buy a UPS, because from time to time there are interruptions in the supply of electricity. I don't like this solution anymore.
