How to keep a linux user

Is there something like chroot, but for users?

We are going to provide access to our servers for the client and want them to see only the directories that we allow.

A google search for "openssh jail" led me to SSHjail for openSSH . If your client uses ssh / scp to access the specified servers, this may be what you are looking for.
