I am working on an ASP.NET 3.5 project that has 55 projects in solution. When you open a solution in Visual Studio 2008, it takes about a minute to open - about 1 second for each project. However, if I disconnect the network cable before opening the solution, it only takes 15 seconds! Any ideas on what might slow down?
This happened to me in the days when we used Visual Source Safe.
Perhaps your version control plugin is requesting updates if you have a solution under source control.
