While working on some awful Javascript code this morning, I came across the following (in several places):
// make moveAmount negative
moveAmount = moveAmount - (moveAmount * 2);
I am sitting right across from the guy who wrote this; He has been a developer here for seven years. I, on the other hand, just started, I'm quite young and do not pretend to know that there is a jack.
However, it became interesting for me to learn about how the guy expels simple logic after so many years of software development.
My question is whether the opinions of others here can be accepted by the general competence of the developer who wrote this (3 weeks ago), or is this generally reflected?
Anyone mark a convolution?
I myself work in constant fear that such judgments are made of me.
