Creating a member for tags: Any reason I should?

I read in another post here where, if possible, you should not generate a member for tags. I was wondering what could be potential DRAWBACKS for this ?

Am I right in saying that the advantage is increased productivity? Anything else?

I have a winform application with 100 shortcuts. Is there any benefit to not creating members or is it only in web applications that you see a win?

Thanks!
