Question

Is there a book or website that teaches and also includes a complete list of character encodings that includes hexadecimal, decimal, and version names?

If you can name a couple of books and sites, this will be very helpful, thanks.

It is not clear which character set you need. For ASCII characters, it man asciiwill run on most Unix systems. There is a huge standard for all Unicode . There is a W3C for HTML objects . Perhaps you can be more specific about which characters you are interested in?

You should see:

Between them, they are likely to be close to comprehensive.
