What is a good part of an inexpensive electronic programming kit?

Now that the systems are so powerful, it seems there is nothing interesting to try to get the most out of an 8-bit micro and with less than 64 KB of memory. Is there something (this is not an emulator) that can provide a similar experience?

If you just want to have fun programming, take a look at the Tandy TRS-80 Model 100 . It loads instantly, runs on 4 AA batteries, has a very clear LCD display and is integrated into the BASIC. The keyboard is fantastic! A working model can reach $ 75 (see Club 100 Shop ).

I like the 8-bit AVR microcontrollers, but sometimes it's nice to have a large LCD display, interpreted language and keyboard. Enjoy.
